This is a personal favourite of mine for a few reasons. At the time of the conception, I was working at one of my first graphic design jobs making clothing and apparel for various levels of athletic teams. I was also coaching competitive volleyball and it just so happened that where I worked dealt a lot with the volleyball community. The Ontario Volleyball Association, which holds provincial championships for youth competitive volleyball, had an open contest for the logo to be used at the championships. I decided to enter.
The Contest
The contest was simple, design a logo that would be used on all of the championship material including clothing. I mulled it over for a while and ultimately decided I should enter. How cool would it be to attend the championships as a coach and also see your logo plastered everywhere and the athletes wearing gear you designed? Well, turns out it was really cool.
Info
- Client: Ontario Volleyball Association Provincial Championships
- Services: Logo design
- Year: 2012
I submitted my logo in December of 2011 and a few weeks later I was selected as a finalist. There were 3 logos in the finals and the Ontario Volleyball Association opened up voting for a few weeks. I was nervous to say the least and was incredibly happy when I was announced as the winner. Such a neat experience I will never forget.
